About me

I started Demo Wines in the summer of 2011 to show other wineries what Secure Cellar Door looked like when it was dropped into a website.  Since then, I've come to the realization that I can use this blog as a means of showing wineries how to effectively market their wines, by themselves, with very little costs.

Part of my job for Secure Cellar Door is to go around to winery cellar doors and talk to owners about what they need in a website.  I try to encourage them to use e-commerce, or online shopping, as a means of directly selling to their customers.  In touring around the wine regions of Australia, I am learning much about how the business operates.  I have tried to list in this blog, not only advice on website and online presence, but also marketing in general.

My hope is that this blog will become a resource, not only for the wineries which use Secure Cellar Door, but also for the wine industry as a whole.  I hope to explore first, setting up a website with all the latest incorporations of social media, as well as having content management and online shopping.  Then I want to explore the community of the wine industry, and try to see small wineries can band together to get more of their product out there.
